Improved Search for Properties and Accounts in Google Analytics 4

Google recently unveiled a new way to make analytic insight more accessible within its GA4 properties. With the addition of an easy-to-use search box, finding reports and answers got smarter — you could  instantly access account configurations as well as helpful content in any language supported by Analytics. As you type your question into the search bar, suggestions appear with bold highlights so that reaching resolution is simpler than ever before.

February 13, 2023 - Google recently unveiled a new way to make analytic insight more accessible within its GA4 properties. With the addition of an easy-to-use search box, finding reports and answers got smarter — you could  instantly access account configurations as well as helpful content in any language supported by Analytics. As you type your question into the search bar, suggestions appear with bold highlights so that reaching resolution is simpler than ever before.

  

    Last week Google made navigating Google Analytics even easier! Now the search bar at the top of GA4 allows you to quickly find info about what matters most – your account and properties. Glide from one property to another with ease, thanks to this new streamlined experience.

    Find data stream details

    Tap into more detailed information about your web or app data streams with just a few simple search terms. Update the search bar at the top of GA4 to quickly discover any current information and navigate between multiple accounts, providing an effortless experience like never before.

    • the keyword “Tracking”
    • a web stream measurement ID (i.e., “G-XXXXXXX”)
    • an app stream ID (i.e., “XXXXXXX”)

    Find the current property and account settings

    The following search terms allow you to open the settings for the property you are using:

    • the keyword “Property”
    • the current property ID or property name

    The following search terms allow you to open the settings for the account you are using:

    • the keyword “Account”
    • the current account ID or account name

    Go to other Google Analytics 4 properties

    GA4 helps you explore beyond the data from your current property, giving you access to up to 7 properties that match a single search query. So take advantage of this feature and discover what’s out there!

    • the property ID or property name of the other property
    • a web stream measurement ID (i.e., “G-XXXXXXX”) in the other property
    • an app stream ID (i.e., “XXXXXXX”) in the other property
