Business Development

Head of Business Development

About the Role

The Head of Business Development will be brought on to supercharge Napkyn's Business Development efforts, via all of the following:

-Front line salesperson primarily responsible for generating new business sales with new clients
-Collaborate with key executives and managers at Google to inform them of Napkyn offerings and credentials, generate leads for new business, gain information on target clients, and close opportunities
-Support Napkyn client accounts leads to sell new opportunities to existing business
-Leverage existing industry relationships to source new client opportunities
-Lead the development of and deliver client pitch presentations

This critical role requires a combination of strong strategic thinking, storytelling, and selling skills, communication skills, presentation development experience, hustle, existing industry relationships, and dogged attention to detail & follow up.

Experience required for this role includes:

-5-10 years (minimum) of media and business development experience
-Experience within Google reseller or digital media agency
-Experience working at Google is a plus
-Experience selling programmatic technology to advertisers
-Comfortable operating in a small team, entrepreneurial mindset

About the Role

Napkyn’s programmatic leaders live within the Media Solutions team, driving expertise of the Google Marketing Platform media buying products: Display & Video 360, Campaign Manager, Search Ads 360, and more.

The Media Solutions team is made up of forward-thinking media traders, with ad platform optimization expertise across biddable media channels (including programmatic DSP media: audio, DOOH, native, display, social, SEM, video/Advanced TV, etc) and a keen sense of macro marketing, data policy, and technology trends. 

This team is not simply a trading desk - you will be a strategic biddable media expert, who will be client-facing, partner-facing, and seen as an internal expert for brainstorming future-proof ad tech solutions that drive client value and solve/automate internal workflow challenges. External training for clients will reinforce best practices covering set up, execution, reporting and optimization.  

As a Media Solutions Manager, you will refine your programmatic craft across the Google Marketing Platform (e.g.. DV360, SA360, CM360), unlocking value across channels (Advanced TV/CTV, Audio, Video/YouTube, Display/Native, SEM) and the ad tech ecosystem of SSPs, CDPs, DMPs, ad verification partners, and more.

3+ years of full-time digital optimization experience required (e.g. Programmatic/DSP media buying)

About the Role

You will serve as primary client point of contact for clients and as support point for other clients when needed:

-Leading 1-2 clients as a lead, supporting your team members across 4-8 clients
-Responsible for understanding clients’ business issues and goals and successful delivery of marketing/media services.
-Becoming the trusted “go to person” for clients
-Supporting Google marketing Platform (CM/DV/SA) trainings for clients
-Helping senior team leads to identify client upsell opportunities across Media and Data Solutions, working closely with Data Solutions counterparts when necessary
-You will support project management, and innovation within the team. Identifying process and pain points to automate and improve. As well as new productization/revenue opportunities
-A combination of process documentation, process creation and innovation, Napkyn Magic product innovation
-Responsible for supporting Media Team with billing and technical troubleshooting

You Will Learn: 

Refine your programmatic/biddable media expertise while broadening your optimization expertise with Google’s omni-channel media trading platforms and analytics tools, actively planning and launching campaigns across GMP.

(Google: Search Ads 360, Display & Video 360, Campaign Manager 360)

Also, learning about other channels and platforms will help us determine the best fit for Google products within a marketing mix.

Note: you are not expected to have a deep expertise across all platforms and channels on day 1, but you’re expected to have an eagerness and willingness to learn (and teach)!

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

-1-3+ years of full-time digital optimization experience required (e.g. Programmatic/DSP media buying)
-Consider yourself knowledgeable of DV360, ideally have experience with buying PMPs, CTV, Youtube, and other advanced programmatic knowledge
-Strong knowledge of CM360
-Maintain an in-depth knowledge of digital marketing technologies and other Google Marketing Platform technologies (Google Analytics, Google Ads/Search Ads360) 
-Previous experience with executive relationship development 
-Understanding of high-level business strategy
-Ability to articulate technical capabilities in terms of business value
-Strong analytical skills, and comfort with MS Excel/Google Sheets, data analysis and internet technologies
-Bachelor’s degree or similar alternative, recognized and relevant certification(s)
